About the event

Explore metal embossing.

Metal embossing can be used to create embellishments and decorations for gourds. I will be demonstrating and providing materials for 2 different techniques.

The first is general embossing on an aluminum sheet.  There will be a small piece of aluminum to practice on and a pattern and larger piece to emboss a turtle.

The second technique is done on aluminum foil tape that is a small Zuni bear  adhered to a piece of cardstock. The original method was done on a gourd with woodburning; this is a simpler way to try the technique.

Since it is difficult for everyone to watch a video crowding around the laptop at Current, it would be helpful to watch this short video on basic embossing techniques beforehand.
